Tiger was "Yellow Boy" and a friend thought he should be named "Houdini" because he was the first puppy to escape the exercise pen. Too many dogs live up to names like this, so instead, we named him "Tiger" from an early Tiger Woods Nike commercial. THIS is a name to live up to!
Tiger has never felt that the 'No Dogs On The Couch Rule' applies to him. He uses the couch as a trampoline and flies over the back onto many an unsuspecting critter during a game of chase. He likes to put his front legs on my lap while I'm watching TV and will very slowly put the rest of his body on the couch and stretch out for a good scratch session. He loves his stuffed animals and will entertain himself with them when the other critters tire out. He's a fun boy to live with!
June 2000, Oregon and California: Tiger was Best Opposite Sex in Puppy Sweepstakes at both Willamette Valley Samoyed Fanciers (WVSF) and Northern California Samoyed Fanciers (Nor Cal) Specialties!!! He was Best of Breed Puppy at Contra Costa Kennel Club show the next day. Thanks to Sweepstakes Judges Pat Cummins (WVSF) and Cheryl Loper (Nor Cal) for acknowledging Tiger's movement despite his puppy antics!
June 2000: It took a day for Tiger to settle down after a very long drive from California to Idaho, but it was worth the wait. Tiger took Best of Breed from the 9 to 12 month puppy class at the June 14 Snake River Canyon Kennel Club show for his second point under Robert Stein. This was his last time in puppy class and this was a great way to remember the day!
August 2000: Tiger left most of his hair at home just before the shows, but still got Best Puppy in Sweeps at the Samoyed Club of Washington State Specialty!!! His competition included a finished bitch and another who finished two days later. Many thanks to Sweeps Judge Ruth Mary Heckeroth! Tiger also won his Specialty Bred By Exhibitor class and showed better than he did in Sweeps. The photo is not very good, but it is included in memory of Ruth Mary who died in January, 2002.
September 2000: We took the plunge and flew to Fredrick, Maryland for Samoyed Club of America Nationals! Tiger was very distracted seeing so many other Samoyeds and did not show to his potential in Futurity or Puppy Sweeps. He finally settled down and took 4th place in Bred By Exhibitor Dog class out of an entry of 33 under Breeder Judge Lynette Blue!
September 2002: After 11 months off, Tiger was entered in 2 shows and received a 3 point major under breeder judge Karen McFarlane.
October 2002: Tiger took WD/BOW at 3 of the 4 Boise shows. His niece Spring was Winners Bitch on the third day, making this a family affair!
June 2003: NEW CHAMPION!! After another 8 month hiatus, Tiger took a 3 point major under judge Beth Speich and a 2 point win under judge Hank Williams to finish on June 21 with a point to spare. He sure thinks he's hot stuff now! Unfortunately, his finishing photo by Kemp Photography was absolutely horrible and did not even state "New Champion".
July 2005: NEW CANADIAN CHAMPION! Tiger ventured "up north" in the spring of 2005 after I broke my leg. Special thanks to Karin McClain for putting this title on Tiger (including a Group 4 placement!) and for taking such good care of him for the 6 months he was with her.
During this time, Tiger became a proud papa! Summerhills Snowhite Lilly "Lilly" stole his heart and their litter was born June 22, 2005. His son Summerhill's Bacardi on Ice "Bacardi" became a Canadian Champion in June,2006.

Tiger sired a litter with Am Can Ch Polar Mist Belle of the Ball in October, 2006. We took a girl from this litter who is on her way to becoming an AKC Champion. Meet Mystique at www.silverfoxsamoyeds.com/mystique.html.
